Today we kick off the first of (as many as I can make!) Holiday Gift Guides. I’ve found myself so overwhelmed with where to start, how to organize - what to feature first and so on and so forth - so I've decided to break it up into different categories. We'll start out with LOCAL FOOD goods - and even though we are starting local, most of these featured shops will ship to you no matter where you are! This is just my first attempt at putting together some quality content for you to enjoy - so please bear with me as I sort through all the fun ways to highlight and support small business this year!
A Bit of Taste - premium olive oil
I love A Bit of Taste (formally known as Queen Anne Olive Oil) - they have been my go-to Olive Oil shop for many years, and I love that they re-use/re-cycle your bottles (Seattle based friends), and have such a huge assortment of quality olive oils, and dozens of unique flavors. I personally love their Pineapple Balsamic Vinegar (on salads and sandwiches!) and Garlic Olive Oil for cooking or dipping bread in.
Bell's Cookie Co - fresh cookies to your door
Need I say more about a cookie delivery? I have been really looking forward to testing out these yummy cookies, based right in my own neighborhood. They have an assortment of delicious offerings (peep that "Secret Santa" bundle!) and offer a few ways for you to get them to your door - whether it's pick-up, delivery to Seattle or shipping across the US!
Bluebird Ice Cream - deliciously creamy ice cream! (Seattle ONLY)
That's it - after trying ALL THE ICE CREAMS in Seattle , Bluebird has become my quarantine staple. I usually have at least 3 pints in my freezer at all times. And Seattle - they offer DELIVERY every Friday! They even have a few vegan options ( that even non-vegan friends will love )
Chinook & Company - premium salmon
This is the tastiest and most delicious salmon you'll try. Owner Linda Meuter ensures that you're getting the highest quality, healthiest & sustainable salmon around. She really knows her fish. Once you try the Copper River Smoked Salmon in a jar you'll never go back to regular smoked salmon again!
Eden Hill Provisions - IYKYK! (Seattle ONLY)
Eden Hill has been the poster child of how to PIVOT and keep things fresh during 2020. Starting out at the Queen Anne Farmer's market with the tastiest burger you've ever had, they have created a cult following here in Seattle. Eden Hill has been one of our top to-go restaurants during quarantine, and it goes without saying they are truly doing there best to crush it. I highly recommend checking out one of their amazing offerings, from dinner meals, to canned goods - they really have something for everyone.
Haiti Coffee - Coffee beans & cold brew
Earlier this summer I tried out Haiti Coffee's cold brew (hand delivered!) and it was truly the BEST cold brew I've add. Smooth and tasty - and never bitter. They have a fine selection of coffee beans you can order right from their website - and if you are local to Seattle, check out their cold brew!
Lowrider Cookie Co - Did I say I like cookies?
Another favorite cookie stop in Georgetown is Lowrider Cookie Co. I mean they make a COOKIE CAKE. They have two locations, but are only for Seattle residents for pick-up or delivery - so be sure to try them out for a special occasion, or just because!
Molly's Bottle Shop - Wine & Bottle Club (Seattle ONLY)
Molly's Bottle Shop offers a selection of natural wines AND a monthly subscription service. For those sensitive to wines, it's nice to have options via natural wines, and a helpful human to make suggestions for you on what to try based on your wants and needs. Sorry folks - this is for Seattle only, but next time you're headed to Ballard, be sure to swing by and check out this darling shop IRL!
Nielsen's Pastries - pastries and more!
Offering authentic Danish pastries - Nielsen's has been around Seattle for decades! I highly recommend ordering a kringle (or two) for yourself and a friend this holiday season!
San Juan Island Salt - more than just salt!
If you're from Seattle, I've sure you have heard of San Juan Island Salt - BUT I urge you to explore their website, because they are most than just salt. They have a wide assortment of flavored salts, rubs and spices that will delight your tastebuds. My favorite is their Bull Kelp Salt ( how very PNW of me!).
Sea Wolf Bakers - the best Sourdough in town. (Seattle ONLY)
We stan Sea Wolf Bakery since day one! They started out with just croissants and bread, and have expanded to so many amazing baked goods over the years - we just can't get enough! Definitely check-out their online ordering and get yourself some dinner rolls and stuffing mix this holiday season ( seasonal offerings ).
